[Released - June 2022] ⚠️ URLs for the ITONICS Innovation OS will change

On June 29, 2022, the URLs to reach the ITONICS platform will change (note that this does not affect Enterprise-tier customers).

This is how the general structure of URLs will change:

Let’s take a look at an example for an Organization called “My Company” with the URL extension “my-company” accessing the ITONICS Explorer application.

How does this impact our users?

You can still access most pages using the old URLs. We will make sure that you are redirected to the new URL. If you have saved bookmarks, these will still work.

📢 Be sure to replace old bookmarks in time. We cannot guarantee that all redirects will keep working in the medium term.

Please be aware of the following:

  • For settings (e.g. Organization or Workspace settings), redirects will not be available. Trying to access settings using the old URLs will redirect you to the Organization overview, from which you can then navigate to the settings.
  • Trying to access an application without your Organization’s custom URL extension, e.g. by typing explorer.itonics.io only, will redirect you to the landing page of your Organization, or in some cases to the Organization overview. As soon as you add the URL extension, though (e.g. explorer.itonics.io/my-company), you will be correctly redirected (to my-company.exploer.itonics.io/explorer in the example).
  • The change may lead to problems logging in if you use a VPN or firewall. Please check the following article for further information.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Why the change?

We are planning to offer authentication via Single Sign-On (SSO) in the near future, and this change is required in order for us to provide Single Sign-On.

In order to configure SSO with custom identity provider mapping to your Organization (IDP mapping), custom domains are required.

This also means that users of your Organization will be able to log in through a custom domain even if you do not have SSO enabled. You will be able to find that login page here:

[URL extension].itonics.io/id/login

Or, for the example above,here:

my-company.itonics.io/id/login

A generic login page at itonics.io/id/login will still be available if you do not have SSO enabled.
