ITONICS among Germany's most innovative companies 2026

ITONICS has been named in the SZ Institut's "Most Innovative Companies 2026" ranking. The results were published in the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

It is the third consecutive year ITONICS has been recognized in the ranking, following 2024 and 2025. For a company whose entire business is helping others innovate, that continuity matters more than any single placement: it shows innovation is built into how we operate, year after year.

What the SZ Institut ranking measures

The SZ Institut benchmark evaluates companies headquartered in Germany on their innovation capability, combined with the economic strength to sustain it. This year, 2,753 companies were screened and 100 qualified for the final ranking. ITONICS placed #69.

Among the factors considered are:

• Financial stability and a solid credit rating, so innovation is backed by real business strength.
• Investment in research and development and in self-created intellectual property.
• Innovation as a structural capability: organization, processes and long-term vision rather than one-off products.
• Digitalization, collaboration and technology as levers of innovation, including partnerships and open innovation models.

The title of this year's results, "Ideas with balance-sheet value", sums up the idea behind the ranking: innovation counts when it shows up in business performance, not just in announcements.
