ITONICS Campus: Supporting EDHEC Students Against Crisis Initiative

As this challenging summer semester 2020 is coming to an end, we are happy to share another story from the ITONICS Campus program. This time a cooperation with one of the top European business schools, EDHEC. In the times of pandemic, remote teaching got a pivotal chance to redefine itself and we at ITONICS decided to support the academic community by launching a Digital Campus program with access to services and software for universities to facilitate remote teaching. EDHEC Business School and its Chair for Foresight, Innovation and Transformation, has already implemented interesting foresight and scenario projects using the ITONICS platform to help companies impacted by the crisis.

The EDHEC Students Against the Crisis (ESAC) initiative was created as a response to Covid-19 with an aim to assist the management teams of companies hit by the crisis by developing recovery scenarios or new business plans using foresight methods and tools. Thus, groups of students came together to develop robust foresight strategies and DIY management kits for companies ranging in size and industry including but not limited to Lufthansa, Strabag, Côté Nature, and Absolute Asia.

Students worked on company challenges together with mentors and facilitators and concluded their projects with final recommendations to the management teams of respective companies. According to some of the participants, the results of their projects are “helping not only the complete industry but also all the stakeholders associated with it to think outside the box and identify unconventional solutions to the business challenges”. Moreover, challenges presented a chance for students to follow“ a highly scientific and methodical process and use sophisticated foresight methods to work on deliverables such as scoping, identification of key drivers, building scenarios and devising strategic actions.”

ITONICS is always ready to facilitate digital education and enhance the learning experiences of students with our innovation management platform, especially in such highly uncertain and ambiguous times.

For more details on the Digital Campus and our university cooperation stories check out how the students of Technical University of Darmstadt developed scenarios in the fields of mobility, energy supply, and energy efficiency. ITONICS Digital Campus is there to support lecturers and their students in advancing innovation & foresight in research and education. So stay tuned as more is yet to come!
