In February 2013, ITONICS started with eight passionate team members in its own office in Kathmandu. Ten years later, the team consists of over 70 highly committed individuals and continues to grow. A good reason to celebrate!
How the journey began
After ITONICS was founded in 2009, it soon became clear that more highly skilled professionals were needed to drive the development of our software. Fortunately, a former working student introduced ITONICS founder Dr. Michael Durst to the potential that Nepal offers in this field. In 2011, we made our first attempt to set ground in Nepal with a local software development company and a team of six professionals.
After a few months, we realized that the team had a lot of pressure due to multiple projects with other clients they needed to take care of aside from the engagement with us. Therefore, we explored the possibility of creating a 100% subsidiary and running our own operation. Thanks to a fantastic local team, we soon found the perfect office space to settle in.
Today, our team in Kathmandu is an essential part of ITONICS, contributing to our rapid growth.
ITONICS Nepal marks its 10-year milestone
Managing Director of ITONICS Nepal, Sijan Shrestha, is a man of the first hour. Looking back on the past ten years, he remarks, “the journey wasn’t easy”. It took hard work and dedication in the beginning to set up the office, find the right people, and manage resources. The entire process was learning by doing, but with a supportive team by his side, Sijan was able to overcome the initial challenges. As Managing Director, he is today responsible for 70 team members.
True to the motto "work hard, party harder", the 10-year anniversary was duly celebrated. With ITONICS founder Michael Durst and Director of Engineering Michael Seibt on-site, show performances by the ITONICS Nepal team, games, and dances, the event adds another unforgettable memory to the history of ITONICS Nepal.
We thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and who continues to contribute to the success of ITONICS.
