Activities are the basic objects you place on a Roadmap. They represent real-world innovation activities that play an integral role in implementing your innovation strategy and support the progress towards Milestones. Place Activities on Layers on a Roadmap, connect them to each other, and link them to Explorer Elements.

Administrator:
Administrators at the Organization level in ITONICS are responsible for the structure and health of an Organization. Administrators can modify Workspaces, configure Element Types for all Workspaces, and manage users.
Administrators at the Workspace level are responsible for managing users that have access to the Workspace, and can further customize what Elements look like.

Advanced Filtering:
The Advanced Filtering functionality allows you to create complex filters for Elements by choosing what Properties to filter by for each type of Element separately. Using Advanced Filtering allows you to select ranges, values, and Properties to filter by, and enables you to narrow down your content and to gain insights quicker.

Attachments Widget:
The Attachments Widget allows you to upload files to any Element.
On ITONICS blueprint Element Types, the widget can usually be found at the bottom of the Element. In the full Element detail view, it can be expanded, allowing you to see a more detailed list of attached files.

You are able to perform different bulk actions on ITONICS Elements. Bulk actions allow you to copy, delete, and open a number of different Elements simultaneously, for example.

Card View
The Card View is one way to display Elements from your Workspace in the ITONICS Explorer. Elements that are displayed in the card view show the Elements’ basic information.

Casual Search:
The Casual Search input in the Insights module allows you to search for relevant Signals using keywords, Explorer Elements, or other Insights Presets.
It enables you to easily discover relevant Signals. The more items you add to the Casual Search, the more your search field will be narrowed down.

Signals in ITONICS are enriched using the IPTC Media Topics categorization. This can give you a rough overview of what categories are important for your search field and can be easily visualized using the Cluster Visualization.
You can also use the filter tab to filter for categories that interest you.

Center Around Now:
The Center around now button located in the Roadmap Module enables you to center your Roadmap view on the current date while keeping the zoom at the level you have chosen.
This allows you to easily view the currently relevant Activities and Milestones.

Cluster Visualization:
The Cluster Visualization in the Insights module provides a categorization view on all Signals for your search. The Cluster Visualization is made up of bubbles representing topical clusters and assists you in quickly viewing the numbers of Signals within each topic cluster.
As a general rule, the bigger the cluster, the more Signals it contains. The number of Signals within a bubble is indicated on the bubble.

Commenting:
In Explorer, you can comment on an Element by selecting the Element you want to comment on within a Workspace. You and your colleagues can comment, mention an Element, or react to each others’ comments.

When multiple users add their ratings to an Element, the system displays both the viewer's rating and the combined rating of all users. For rating criteria with text options, a rounded average is used; for ratings that use numbers as options, the exact value is displayed.

Configuration:
ITONICS allows you to configure your system according to your organization’s individual needs, use cases, and innovation processes. Element Configuration in particular allows you to customize the types of Elements you work with, as well as how you work with them.

Connections:
Innovation activities and workflows are often dependent on each other, and Connections in the Roadmap module model those dependencies. Connections are displayed as linking nodes and all connected Activities can be viewed by clicking on the Activity, opening its stack view.

Custom Privacy Policy:
You can add a Custom Privacy Policy for your Organization to describe how personal data is used. All users of any Organization will be asked to accept the policy if this is activated or updated.

The Detail Page of an Element is an expanded view of the Element and displays information about the Element including a description, categorization, sources, links, ratings, tags, and attachments. You can also use the Detail Page to view and add Element relations or comments.

Distance Scaling:
Distance scaling is one of the options available that modifies your Radar view. It offers a logarithmic scaling by default that visually prioritizes the center of the Radar, and can be switched to linear scaling to provide an even distribution of the Radar’s rings.

Element:
Elements are the basic building blocks that make up the ITONICS innovation content management system. Pieces of content in ITONICS that are used across the different modules of the software are called Elements and can be created and modified within Explorer.

Enable Zone Editor:
The Enable Zone Editor functionality in the Porfolio visualization, allows you to divide the matrix chart into different highlighted zones by moving a horizontal and vertical line along the axes.
The rectangular zones can be used to classify the Elements on the Portfolio which can assist you with quickly identifying innovation opportunities and threats.

Hotspots:
Hotspots provide basic help to guide new users and can be toggled to appear anywhere in ITONICS. Hotspots are activated automatically when first accessing ITONICS. You can activate or deactivate them by using the Hints toggle at the bottom of the side navigation.

Layer are used to organize Activities on a Roadmap thematically. Additional layers can be created for a Roadmap, and, if a Layer can be further separated into logical units, you are also able to split it into different sublayers.

Relation:
Adding Relations between Elements in Explorer helps to organize the information in ITONICS and provides an overview of dependencies among those Elements. Relations can be used to establish logical connections.

Signals:
Signals are indicators of potential future change. In ITONICS, Signals of change are collected using machine intelligence that is able to scan through a multitude of dependable sources to collate the most relevant data.
Signals are collected from sources including news, patents, scientific publications, and are enriched with additional information such as topics and tags that indicate thematic relevance.
Signals can be collected under an Element in Explorer or under a Search Field in Insights, and can be pinned or turned into Elements.

Signals Feed:
Every Element in the Explorer contains the Signals Feed. The feed accesses data from our continuously growing data lake which is compiled by our Signals engine, and consists of millions of documents, including news, patents and scientific publications. The feed is generated using the Title and Summary of the Element itself.

Stack:

User Management is part of the Organization and Workspace settings, and allows you to invite new users to ITONICS, add them to your Workspace, and manage their roles. It also allows you to deactivate users that shouldn’t have access to your Organization anymore.
